Watch Mayweather vs Cotto Fight: De La Hoya’s Prediction

The Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar de la Hoya expects Puerto Rican boxer Miguel Cotto to give unbeaten American star Floyd Mayweather Jr. trouble once they face off on the boxing arena on May 5, 2012 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. Oscar De La Hoya twitted on his Twitter account that Cotto possesses “a very unique and interesting style” which can “give0 Mayweather some fits.”

Miguel Cotto was agreed to fight Mayweather on May 5 following the American boxer said he was ready to contain the bout in the junior middleweight limit, as opposed to forcing Cotto to go down to the welterweight division.

Floyd Mayweather currently holds the World Boxing Council welterweight championship, however the bout will be for Cotto’s World Boxing Association junior middleweight title.

“Cotto is patient and calculated with his punches, which new trainer he has will get him in great shape,” De La Hoya added.

As we remember Miguel Cotto won an impressive victory over Mexican fighter Antonio Margarito last December. Mayweather vs Cotto fight are set to attempt a three-city media tour beginning in February 27 in Puerto Rico to push their fight.
